It has excellent service, clear sea, medical treatment in hotels, a wide range of SPA services in wellness centers ..

Therapeutic resorts are available in all regions of Slovenia, most of them in the eastern and central parts of the country: Rogaška Slatina, Roman Terme, Terme Olimia, Dobrna, Zreče, Čatež, Terme Radenci, Shmarjeske Toplice, Dolenjske Toplice, Terme Laško. Each of them is unique. Slovenia is truly a country of thermal waters. Unique natural factors, long traditions of treatment and modern diagnostics - all this is skillfully used in Slovenian medical resorts. Each of the resorts specializes in the treatment and prevention of certain diseases, you just have to choose which one you like best. Slovenia is an alpine world full of virgin nature, secluded forest paths and clear mountain rivers. Snowy Alpine peaks, forested mountains, valleys with vineyards, wide plains, seaside landscape and the Adriatic coast, all this diversity is amazing. The pristine nature harmoniously merges with the world of European civilization - ancient castles, churches, historical cities and villages.

The ridges of the Eastern Slovenian Alps rise in the north and northwest of the country, forming a natural border with Austria. The Alpine landscape is intersected by picturesque valleys and rivers. Waterfalls and alpine lakes Bled and Bohinj of glacial origin have amazing blue and crystal clear water.

Slovenia occupies one of the leading places in Europe in terms of forest area. In the lowlands of the river valleys - swampy meadows, and high in the mountains - alpine. On the Adriatic coast, mostly Medditeranean vegetation.

The architectural heritage is carefully guarded. The streets of small towns, ancient castles that have absorbed the features of Gothic and Baroque culture. Monasteries and temples, which were once defensive structures, are the pride of the country. In the city of Celje (the third largest city in Slovenia), popularly known as the “Second Troy”, the ruins of ancient buildings have survived to this day.

The people of Slovenia are hardworking and friendly. The very name of the country unites with the peoples of the Slavic states. And the name of the capital - Ljubljana speaks of friendliness and love for other nations.

Slovenians say this about their country: “When God created the earth, he decided to settle in Slovenia and therefore generously rewarded this small country with natural wealth and beauty.” Having visited this small but very cozy country, you are convinced that this is true.

Slovenia gives holidays all year round. Winter for mountains and  winter sports, summer - in the seaside resorts of the Adriatic, autumn and spring for hiking along the shores of alpine lakes. And at any time of the year - the life force of Slovenian thermal waters.

Ljubljana

Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia, located in the central part of Slovenia, between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea. The city spreads along the banks of the Ljubljanica River.

The modest charm of the city conquers everyone who has ever visited the capital of Slovenia.

According to the legend, the founder of Ljubljana was the Greek prince Jason. According to legend, the Argonauts, led by Jason, who stole the Golden Fleece from King Ait, sailed from the Black Sea along the Danube River. From it they got into the Sava River and then into the Ljubljanica River. Somewhere in these places, Jason encountered a terrible monster, and, having fought with him, defeated him. Since then, the Ljubljana Dragon - a monster has settled in the upper tower of the Ljubljana Castle. The Dragon is the symbol of the city.

Residents of the capital, as well as many guests of the city, say that Ljubljana is a city created “to order”.Although it is one of the average European cities and retains the attractive friendliness of a small town, it has everything that big capitals have - it is the political and cultural heart of the Slovenian nation, an important European trade, business, congress and exhibition center, as well as transport, scientific and educational center of Slovenia.

The location between north and south has naturally defined Ljubljana as a meeting place for merchants and soldiers, as well as negotiators who have repeatedly made peace here. It seemed appropriate to the victors in the Napoleonic Wars to convene a congress of the Holy Alliance in this peaceful place where paths cross and people meet from time immemorial, deciding for a time the fate of European political geography in 1821...

In Ljubljana, the old is lovingly intertwined with the modern, and it seems that the history of all 5 millennia has prepared the city to become the capital. The city was lucky to keep traces of all periods of rich history; heritage of the Roman Emona, the historic center of the city with Renaissance, Baroque and Art Nouveau facades, romantic bridges adorning the Ljubljanica river, twisted roofs and a park extending deep into the city.

The name Ljubljana is an etymological explanation - "Beloved", for everyone who has a place in their hearts.

Rogaška Slatina

Legend

A story from long ago, when gods and mythological heroes ruled, tells that the winged horse Pegasus was flying over Slovenia when he struck his hoof on a mountain and a spring of miraculous mineral water appeared...

History

The legend has turned into history, which based on coins and other archaeological finds indicates that the effectiveness of natural mineral water had been discovered during the time of the Celts and the Ancient Romans. Although people have long enjoyed the benefits of this invigorating water, it was only in 1572 that Swiss alchemist Leonhard Thurneysser began to study it scientifically, thus paving the way to a more precise description of its properties, and he called it “Rogaška mineral water”. This is followed by nearly a century of silence, after which Dr Paul Sorbait, court physician and professor at the Vienna school of medicine, described the water in his Praxis Medicae, through which the natural mineral water from Rogaška Slatina became famous even outside the Habsburg Empire.

About mineral water Donat Mg

Rogaška Medical Centre is home to this unique natural healing mineral water, the richest in magnesium.

Donat Mg natural mineral water is around 8,000 years old and has proven healing effects. Deep underground (between 280 and 600 metres under the surface) the spring water is enriched by minerals from the dissolving rocks(magnesium, calcium, sulphates, hydrogencarbonates) and other elements (CO2).

One litre of Donat Mg contains as much as 1,040 milligrams of magnesium. Magnesium and other minerals give Donat Mg the healing power that soothes and prevents numerous diseases and protects our health. Therefore, it has been successfully used in medicine for several centuries for soothing health problems.

Pearl of nature

This pearl of nature is formed at a depth of 280 to 600 m by the dissolution of rocks rich in magnesium, calcium, sulphates, hydrogen carbonates and a range of other elements required for the correct functioning of metabolic processes in the body. It is accompanied by large quantities of free carbonic acids. The source of the water is constantly renewed. In terms of its age, it is classified among old ground waters of meteoric origin. Using the 13 C method, it was found that the average age of Donat Mg mineral water is roughly 8000 years. The effects the drinking and inhalation of Donat Mg have on our health have been thoroughly studied.

Ptuj

Ptuj, the oldest Slovenian city. Architectural monuments are under state protection. 2000 years ago, on the site of Terme Ptuj, there was the city of Poetovio, at that time one of the largest cities in the Roman provinces. Here a decision was made to enthrone a new ruler of the Roman Empire, which indicates the importance of this city.

On the last slope of the Slovenske Gorice, which stretches almost to the Drava River, a powerful fortress rises: the Ptuj Castle. Its strategically important position allowed it to control the plain far around, attracting settlers since ancient times. Archaeological finds testify to the first inhabitants of the Castle Hill as early as the Stone Age or the beginning of the Copper Age (about 2100-1750 BC). Remains of pottery and stone axes from this period are preserved in the archaeological collections of the Local History Museum of Ptuj.

Ptuj has long been known as a city of grapes and wine. The fertile soils of Haloze and Slovenske Gorice, temperate continental climate, favored the cultivation of vineyards on the hilly terrain along the Drava River in ancient times, when the lands of Ptuj were conquered by the Romans.

Wine has been stored in the wine cellars of Ptuj since 1917, and the oldest wine cellar that has survived to this day is located in the Minorite Monastery.

This city is the birthplace of Slovenian carnival Pust. Carnival with the famous Kurent masks takes place here every year. Kurent is a demon that comes out for Pust to scare away the winter. His costume is made of feathers, horns made of wood, wrapped in leather, and then decorated with ribbons or paper flowers. Covered in a coat of sheep skill with five cowbells tied around his waist. Always with high boots accompanied by red or green socks and a wooden club covered in hedgehog skin (ježevke) on the end.

Ptuj and its surroundings provide numerous opportunities for active pastime. Sports enthusiasts at Terme Ptuj will find a fitness center, a thermal park with pools and slides, an Olympic swimming pool, tennis courts (9 courts), mini-golf. Not far from the resort there is a modern golf course with 18 holes. Numerous water sports opportunities are also offered by Lake Ptuj and the Drava River, while the nearest sports airport provides adventures high above the ground.
